What would happen if you "Featured Your Clients"?
Did you know that less than 1% of local businesses ever get published in local, national, or industry trade publications? It's a startling statistic, considering the power that media exposure holds in shaping consumer perceptions. So, what would happen if YOU published articles highlighting and featuring your clients, local businesses and network? I leverage this technique myself, through my Ignite Business Insider program. Have you considered using your social media to "Feature a Friend"?
Harness the power of social media and implement a "Feature a Friend" campaign. I launched this last year, when I realized that even big brands like Nike and Coca-Cola have social media feeds just filled with post after post of their own products. Basically, businesses use their social media accounts to promote, promote, promote. And I get that.
But what if your favorite brands used their precious social media feed to feature YOU? How grateful and supported would you feel?
Now here's the trick...
If your favorite brand featured you on their social media, you would probably share it with THE WORLD!
Here's how I do it:
Each day, I select a friend from my network > I scroll through their feed to find a post that truly highlights their products, services or personality > Then I hit the Share Button and paste the following text:
"Today's featured friend is: Enter Name
I have a lot of AMAZING friends in my network. So, I'm re-starting my #FeatureAFriend focus.
Each day, I will pick a friend and share several of their posts.
I think my friends are pretty amazing, and would like everyone to meet them as well."
By simply sharing my friend's posts, I highlight them. I break up the ads and promotions on my own social feed. And this simple act of sharing introduces my friends (who I think are pretty amazing) to the rest of my network.
Be the neighborhood expert with "Local Business Highlights"
Incorporate local business highlights in your newsletters and articles. Showcase the partnerships you have formed and the positive impact you've had on your community. Not only does this create goodwill, but it also fosters a sense of pride among your existing customers, motivating them to share their association with your brand.
Reward your customers with "Client Events"
Take your engagement to the next level by hosting client events. Whether it's a workshop, a networking session, or a customer appreciation party, providing opportunities for face-to-face interaction strengthens the bond with your customers. It also presents a chance for them to share their positive experiences with others.
Build a Community through "Referral Circles"
Focus on building a strong community around your clients and vendors. Encourage open communication, create online forums or groups where they can connect, share ideas, and offer support. When your customers feel like they're part of something bigger, they become invested in your success and naturally become ambassadors for your brand.
Implementing a referral circle strategy can be a game-changer. Encourage your customers to refer your business to their friends, coworkers, and neighbors. Incentivize them with rewards or exclusive discounts. People trust recommendations from their inner circles, so tapping into these networks is a highly effective way to attract new customers.
