From Guatemala to Vegas: How I’m Building a Global Brand, One Crazy Idea at a Time

By Joseph Haecker

So here’s a question I get a lot:“Where the hell are you these days?”

The short answer? Everywhere. The long answer? Buckle up...

Since the clock struck midnight on January 1st, I’ve been camped out in Guatemala, hopping between volcanoes, lakeside hostels, and internet cafés that serve espresso strong enough to raise the dead. I wasn’t just sightseeing—I was laying groundwork. Mapping strategies. Networking with expats and remotely from borrowed Wi-Fi and coconut pancakes.

Because when your job title is some Frankenstein combo of fractional CMO, tech founder, writer, event producer, and roaming storyteller, the line between vacation and execution gets blurry real fast.

But let’s rewind. Because this year has been insanely productive, and if you’re trying to keep up, let me break it down.

🚀 The San Francisco to NYC Circuit: Product Talk for the Big Dogs

Early this year, I signed on for a short but powerful stint with Products That Count, one of the biggest names in the product innovation space. The mission? Curate and host two high-stakes, high-touch events—San Francisco and New York City—featuring execs from Fortune 50 and 500 brands.

That’s right. We’re talking product leads from companies that shape your daily life—on your phone, in your fridge, and probably in your car.

I didn’t just show up and shake hands—I designed the entire experience: the conversation flow, the atmosphere, even the icebreaker pins we handed out that asked provocative questions like:

“What product changed your life as a child?”

Why? Because I’m allergic to boring events. If I’m curating a room, people aren’t walking out the same way they came in. That’s the bar. Always.

📰 Only Fans Insider Magazine: Yes, You Read That Right

Next stop: Vegas.

But this isn’t blackjack and buffets—we’re talking OnlyFans creators and the booming universe around them. I recently launched Only Fans Insider Magazine, a digital publication that gives voice to the entrepreneurs, creatives, and builders in the adult content space.

Wait—don’t clutch your pearls just yet.

This isn’t about shock value. It’s about recognizing an entire economic subculture that most people still pretend doesn’t exist. Creators are building personal empires, and they deserve the kind of editorial storytelling, education, and community that other industries take for granted.

OFI Magazine is my answer to that. And yes—it’s gaining real traction.

🍔 The Side Hustle With a Cult Following: One Bite Foodie

Meanwhile, back in the kitchen…

One Bite Foodie continues to do what it does best: turn everyday food lovers into local influencers. It’s a social platform built for the “I found this taco stand behind a gas station and it changed my life” type of people. The kind who value experience over hype.

What’s special? It’s not about your follower count. It’s about community, storytelling, and—of course—what you’re putting in your mouth. Texture. Balance. Backstory. Real sh*t.

People are signing up. They’re reviewing. They’re getting paid. We’re building food culture without needing a Michelin star to feel like a rockstar.

📇 Join inCrowd: A Smarter Way to Connect

If you’re tired of business cards dying slow deaths in junk drawers, meet Join inCrowd.

It’s my sleek, contactless digital card platform that lets you share not just contact info—but brand identity. It’s the tech flex you didn’t know you needed. And it’s growing by the week.

Why? Because in a noisy world, people want elegant, fast, and memorable.

🧠 Consulting, Strategy & Wild Ideas That Actually Work

And in between it all? I’m still wearing my Fractional CMO hat. Helping brands go from static to cinematic. Whether it’s monetizing a podcast here in Vegas, building a startup’s go-to-market plan, or taking a tired brand and giving it a voice people actually want to hear—I’m still in the trenches. Just digitally. Globally. Nomad-style.

🧬 The Core of It All: What Ties This Together?

To understand my work, you have to understand why I do it.

It comes down to four obsessions:

1. Community

Every business I touch aims to elevate a community—whether it’s creators, foodies, professionals, or founders. I don’t build platforms for people—I build them with people.

2. Innovation

I reverse-engineer business models. Lighting? Been there. Tech? Built that. And I don’t just use Wix—I bend it into tools it wasn’t designed to be. That’s the game.

3. Engagement

User-generated content. Two-way platforms. Interactive websites. If your customers can’t engage with it, why are you even building it?

4. Storytelling

It turns out, everything I build is about stories. Podcasts, books, interviews, platforms—they all give someone else the mic. I just light the stage.

✈️ Where Am I Now?

Last week, I was in San Diego. Getting dental work in Tijuana. Because yeah—real life still happens, even when you’re building empires. But in the last 12 months, I’ve lived in the Yucatán, Guatemala City, and ping-ponged across the U.S. for events and client projects.

I am typing this from a coffee shop in the Arts District in Las Vegas after helping my friends from the Taboo Talks Podcast monetize their two and a half year running podcast, monetize!

I’m a free-range adult with grown kids. I sleep light, travel light, and move fast.

🔮 What’s Next?

Honestly? I hope one of my platforms hits hard—or gets acquired. I’ll keep creating until one does.

I’m still open to Fractional CMO work, consulting, brand strategy, and weird but brilliant projects. I’m always a DM away. And yes, I’d still like to fall in love again, maybe somewhere on this wild little planet.
