Thank you for taking the time to sit with us and share your story. Can you share a little bit about you and your company?
I started the company four years ago and have built it to be a business with higher margin than most in my industry for the amount of accounts that we have.
A question so many people are interested in, is how you got started. Can you share a little bit about what you were doing before this, and what that moment was like for you when you decided to start this new journey?
Before this, I was working in the family business and became the best sales person with that, but since I saw no upward potential, I took it upon myself to go off on my own, and try my hand at building a company on my own. Thank God I did as it opened up new experiences and has given myself and others a better quality of life.
Let's take a little bit of a detour, and rewind the clock a little bit. What did you want to be as a kid? And how did that influence the person you are today?
As a kid, I always questioned what my purpose was in life at a young age, and always had a hunger for life, a bit ahead of my peers. Even now I just don’t get along with my own age. At the start, though I loved the idea of being a surgeon. if it has anything to do with where I am today, it was connected to a desire for being of value for the world.
Did you have a person, or brand, that was influencial in your early formation of business, or career?
Yes. The movie 300 is a movie that retails the story of the Spartan army and the battle Thermopylae, as the faced the Persian army, who was much larger than 300 men. They were considered the greatest Warriors of the Greek army And their work ethic just made for a great backstory too the premise of this company.
Now, I have found that with successful people, there is always someone pivotal as either a mentor, parent, teacher, or someone that you look to for advise, that helped set you on this path. Could you share who that person was? And what impact that had on the person you are today?
For what is my immediate industry my dad who is the owner of Gladiator pest control started accompany when I was about seven years old and I got to learn under him from the age of 12 the ins and outs of our industry. As for my ability to sell, I can give it only to an individual by the name of Hector Lamarque, who built a salesforce with purpose, and whose lessons still serve me today.
What was one take away that you learned from that person? And how did it translate into your business today?
My dad taught me the beauty of what it is to be a man who can wake up every day, go work with his hands, and create value and pride for his family by the work of his day. It translated my business as in times when things may be tough. I know I can step to the day ahead by finding the means to service someone. from Hector, I continuously am challenged by how he had built his company to find a means to always create opportunity for personnel within the company to always be able to make more and do more to never lose that as it means to create a career for someone that always has an upward potential.
When we work with businesses, we focus a lot on their "Why?". What is your "Why"? What is the driver behind your company, and why you and your team wake up each day and give it your all?
From the beginning, I have pried this company in being able to do same day next day service, and always to accommodate someone’s schedule. The company that shows up at one 2 o’clock in the morning in relation to pest issues throughout the city, and we are yet to not show up. In that sense I suppose are why is to give people quality service that simply just isn’t available as much today by service companies.
Let's dive deeper into your products and services. You already gave an overview, but how do your products or services help your customers? And what makes them different from your competitors?
In truth, we use the same products and services that any company has at their disposal to use but I would say it is the assurance that we use them every single time. Assuming a client has authorized for them and we don’t cut corners.
In other words, we do not promise you the world, and not actually give it to you consistently.
Let's unpack that even further. Let's pick one aspect of your business. What makes it so unique? And how does it change you or your customer's experience?
I have found that this attention to detail has made it so that a client is not only trustworthy of the work that we do, but is always open to every suggestion we could make, and to the point that we can actually predict the needs of the client prior to them even mentioning areas of concern.
Let's dive into your customer's journey a little bit. Can you share with us, how do your customers discover you and your brand? What are their next steps? And what is the experience you would like to see your customers go on, when working with you and your brand?
The greater majority of our clients are based in Pasadena, Encino, and Beverly Hills. Our clients have done a tremendous job of referring friends and family of theirs over the years and they continue to do so. in relation to the future, we are looking at doubling down in our efforts to reach out to the local communities that have entrusted us over the years with their service and are looking to take up a flagship effort to becoming the pest control company for these areas over local Corporate companies who ultimately don’t take the same care that we do in our clients.
Let's rave about your customers for a minute. Can you share a story about one of your clients or customers, that either touched your heart, or made an impact with you and your team?
Over the years, there have been debt of relations with each of our clients, but the ones that stand out most are there those that had a prior company, had a bad experience, became open to service being done our way, and then ultimately resulting in them being happy and further understood.
Everyone likes an inside scoop. What detail or secret about either you, or your company, is something most people might not know?
I believe something that is always unique about us as a company is we approach the interaction of every client with the preparatory mindset of being enthusiastic, sharp as a tack and force, to be reckoned with” .
It makes for a positive reinforcement. Every time we come across our clients on property or in conversation that I don’t feel other companies give their clients unless they have a consistent one on one interaction. Most guys in this industry are looking to get in and out versus our company who runs an optimized route and takes care of their technicians so there’s no need for rushing service and time to appreciate the client and their areas of concern on a monthly basis.
Final thoughts. What feeling or benefits would you like your customers or clients to take away when working with you and your team?
The feeling that they have a company that is premium for the sense that they don’t cut corners, don’t charge trip charges and always look to Taylor services in relation to them and their needs as no one person’s situation is the same.
Last question. How can people find out more about you and your company?
They can go to our website at spartancontrol.com or reach out to us directly at 323-875-2421!
Always get back to our clients within one to 10 minutes. If not the hour and are always available 24 seven to take calls as we are one of three companies in LA that are 24 hours.
Well, it has been great being able to sit with you and learn more about you, your brand and your customer's journey. Thank you so much for sitting with us and sharing your story.
