Thank you for taking the time to sit with us and share your story. Can you share a little bit about you and your company?

Hello Joseph,
My name is Kurt Ogbewele, I am from Brooklyn, New York. My passion was playing basketball at a Division 1 college. I worked hard through having a coach/Mentor and was able to accomplish my dreams when I was 19 years old. My career went on to be a educated for disadvantaged youth between the age range of 11-17. I taught Physical education and coached. This led me to want to start my own business, called MBSB. I wanted the youth to understand that the Mind, Body and Spirit is important in order to attract the right business. Also by working on the Mind, Body and Spirit you can Increase your brand. I also remembered the time when I was working to become a high level basketball player the lack of resources present. So God has blessed me to have some experience in Basketball, Music, Teaching, Coaching and Acting and I wanted to partner with pros to inspire the next generation. So my pros educate and train the youth within Sports, Leadership, Entertainment and Financial Literacy.

Thank you,

A question so many people are interested in, is how you got started. Can you share a little bit about what you were doing before this, and what that moment was like for you when you decided to start this new journey?

MBSB got started by me being powerfully influenced by my best friend. We thought about how important the Mind, Body and Spirit is to attract business. Before I started my business I was physically educating disadvantaged kids through sports. So when I started to run my business I felt like I was taking my passion and experience to really help the next generation.

Let's take a little bit of a detour, and rewind the clock a little bit. What did you want to be as a kid? And how did that influence the person you are today?

As a kid I wanted to be a high level division 1 basketball player. When I was able to be drafted as a pro/semi-pro player in the states it made me feel I can really give back to the young people.

Have you fully let go of that childhood dream? And where do you see yourself going in the next ten years?

Keep it real I still want to play real pro ball. In the next ten years I see myself playing at least one year of high pro ball, happy with my family and business already having the most impact(thriving).

Now, I have found that with successful people, there is always someone pivotal as either a mentor, parent, teacher, or someone that you look to for advise, that helped set you on this path. Could you share who that person was? And what impact that had on the person you are today?

The person that first helped me to be the person I am is my coach/mentor. He really helped me to understand that whatever you want out of life you have to humble yourself and go get it. The second person is my college coach he always challenged us meaning me and my teammates to not be average.

What was one take away that you learned from that person? And how did it translate into your business today?

The one take away I learned from each of these individuals is to Put God first and work hard.

When we work with businesses, we focus a lot on their "Why?". What is your "Why"? What is the driver behind your company, and why you and your team wake up each day and give it your all?

I do what I do is because I want to help the next generation to be better than me. I also do this is to leave a legacy that if we all work together than we can help the disadvantaged to be successful. My company feeds offer young people becoming pros. Me and my team wake up to give it our all because we want to see young people one day come back to there communities to help young people.

Let's dive deeper into your products and services. You already gave an overview, but how do your products or services help your customers? And what makes them different from your competitors?

Our products and services help our potential customers by reminding them we are solely here for them and we want to educate and train you on how to become a pro. We are different from our competitors because we have professionals in Basketball, Music, Teaching, Coaching and Acting who will share their personal stories in order to inspire.

Let's unpack that even further. Let's pick one aspect of your business. What makes it so unique? And how does it change you or your customer's experience?

What makes MBSB so unique is because we have personality who will educate and train your kids in sports, leadership, entertainment and financial literacy. We are still in the process of growing so check back with us in the next three months.

Let's dive into your customer's journey a little bit. Can you share with us, how do your customers discover you and your brand? What are their next steps? And what is the experience you would like to see your customers go on, when working with you and your brand?

My potential customers discovers my business through connection. This could be through my pitch on email or on the phone. Next we set up a meeting. My hope is to be able to provide our services so we can positively influence the young people. When working with MBSB we hope that the young people are improving at the profession they chose.

Let's rave about your customers for a minute. Can you share a story about one of your clients or customers, that either touched your heart, or made an impact with you and your team?

Through my colleague we put on a wellness event at a High School. My colleague asked after the event how was the wellness activities and the potential customer with a big smile on her face said it was great.

Everyone likes an inside scoop. What detail or secret about either you, or your company, is something most people might not know?

We are big believers on practicing yoga. We enjoy the healthy benefits it provides.

Final thoughts. What feeling or benefits would you like your customers or clients to take away when working with you and your team?

MBSB wants our potential customers or clients to feel valued and connected.

Last question. How can people find out more about you and your company?

Honestly check out our Block Party on the event page of MBSB.
